Elizabeth's bio: I have over ten years of experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults in schools, hospitals and community settings. During that time it has been an immeasurable privilege to have played a small but hopefully significant role in the the lives of people who have afforded me a unique perspective on the strength and resolve of the human condition.

I graduated from Fordham University in the Bronx, NY in 1994 with my BS in Psychology and soon after decided I needed additional training and education. I completed my Masters in Social Work, also at Fordham, Lincoln Center, in New York City in 2000. Since then I have worked in several diverse settings including rural Southern Maryland, rural Maine, New York City, Virginia and Washington, DC.

Currently, I value our work with the Healing Journey Group of Changing Focus. Each week, I am impressed by those who have lost a spouse or partner by death. In an attempt to encourage people to move through the grieving process day by day, I respect that the loss of a spouse is a tragically unique occurence in one's lifetime. The grief people share at group serves as a motivation to live each day fully while offering people the chance to garner support from those who really do understand. Each member may have a different background and possess their own compelling story; but, all who attend share powerful emotions and feelings and do so in an environment that is marked by safety, kindness and compassion.
